I have worked in grocery retail for almost 30 years- working in store operations and corporate environments. My experience has become more diversified with a move to the natural foods industry in 2006. Working with the cooperative business model has strengthened my professional skills as well as my world view and my sense of social and corporate responsibility.
My strong point in management is customer service. I really enjoy interacting with customers and helping grow the business through creating a shopping experience that will ultimately increase market share and benefit the surrounding community. I also have strong merchandising skills and a solid understanding all financial reporting and principles related to a grocery retail operation. I am an excellent resource manager with a strong focus on forecast demand scheduling and labor cost control.
At City Market I oversee all front-end operations for a single store with sales of over 38 million annually. I schedule, develop and manage a staff of 40+ including 3 assistant managers. As a cross-functional, mission driven team team we do our best to provide excellent service from 7am to 11pm 363 days a year. I develop and continuously improve upon front-end best practices including cash handling policy and procedure, customer service training and operations training for all front-end staff. I have worked to restructure the front-end staffing requirements to fit the growing needs of our co-op and participated in the redesign of the front-end.
I have raised 3 children and love to spend time with them and their families. I am an avid gym enthusiast and love to road bike. I earned a B.A. with a focus on Organizational Development from Vermont College, union Institue and University (2006) and an M.B.A in Strategic Resource Management from Norwich University, SGS (2010).
I simply love what I do and feel privielged to do what I love.
