National Cooperative Grocers Association (NCGA) is accepting applications for the full-time position of Advocacy Specialist. NCGA's Advocacy Specialist develops educational information and related materials, and provides online, PR and retail program support for NCGA staff, co-ops and target consumers on complex advocacy issues relevant to the natural and organic food co-op sector. The preferred candidate will have substantial background in/understanding of natural and organic food and related political issues; relevant degree; public relations experience; strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; a willingness to remain current on local/regional/national news related to cooperatives and the natural foods industry; and a strong commitment to the success of values-driven community owned food co-ops. This position will be located in NCGA’s Iowa City, IA office.
